DC Samba Chairs Outreach Programme-cum-Block Diwas at Border Village Chachwal Under Vibrant Village Programme-II


Samba, May 13: Deputy Commissioner Samba, Ayushi Sudan, IAS, chaired an Outreach Programme-cum-Block Diwas at border village Chachwal in Block Rajpura under the Vibrant Village Programme-II (VVP-II) launched by the Ministry of Home Affairs, Government of India.
During the programme, the Deputy Commissioner reviewed the existing infrastructure and assessed developmental gaps in the border village through a detailed meeting with various line departments. Local residents also projected several demands and issues related to basic amenities and developmental requirements of the area.
The Deputy Commissioner gave a patient hearing to the grievances and aspirations of the locals and directed the concerned departments to take immediate action for prompt redressal of the issues raised during the programme.
Highlighting the importance of the Vibrant Village Programme-II, Ayushi Sudan stressed the need for active participation of locals, youth, Self Help Groups (SHGs), and former PRI members in suggesting impactful projects for the socio-economic development of the village. She encouraged the public to work closely with the administration for transforming Chachwal into a vibrant and self-reliant border village.

The DC also sensitized the residents about various beneficiary-oriented government schemes and advised them to register under these schemes to avail benefits aimed at improving livelihood opportunities and living standards.

Further, the designated Village Nodal Officer was directed to maintain close coordination with local inhabitants and border guarding forces for the preparation of the Village Action Plan under the Vibrant Village Programme-II.

Among others present on the occasion were Chief Planning Officer Samba Kasturi Lal, SDM Ghagwal KJS Bali, Chief Medical Officer Samba, Chief Education Officer Samba, Executive Engineers, Tehsildar Rajpura, and officers from various stakeholder departments.
