Jammu: The All India Bank Officers Confederation has written to the Prime Minister demanding the implementation of a five-day work week in banks. The organization said that this step would help save energy and fuel while also reducing unnecessary travel for employees and customers.

According to the Confederation, banking services are no longer limited only to branches, as most services are now available online. Many bank branches in rural and remote areas depend on generators, so an additional weekly holiday could also help save diesel.

The organization stated that this move would further strengthen the Prime Minister’s campaign for energy conservation.
