India and Norway have elevated their bilateral relations to a “Green Strategic Partnership”, following talks between Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Norwegian Prime Minister Jonas Gahr Støre.

Under this partnership, both countries will expand cooperation in clean energy, climate change, blue economy, green shipping, and maritime sectors. A total of 12 agreements were signed during the meeting.

PM Modi said India and Norway will jointly contribute to global solutions through technology, innovation, and investment. He also emphasized dialogue and diplomacy as the way forward to resolve global conflicts and terrorism.

During the visit, PM Modi was conferred Norway’s highest civilian honour, the “Grand Cross of the Royal Norwegian Order of Merit”, marking his 32nd international honour.
