🩺 NOC mandatory for doctors from other states to practise in Jammu & KashmirJammu
Jammu: Doctors from other states will be required to obtain a No Objection Certificate (NOC) from their respective State Medical Council to practise in Jammu & Kashmir.
According to reports, after discussions about easing this requirement under new rules, the J&K Medical Council refused to grant permission to doctors without an NOC.
A crucial meeting with the National Medical Commission (NMC) will be held in Delhi on Tuesday evening, involving secretaries from various states and J&K Medical Council Registrar Dr. Sandeep Dogra. The meeting will focus on finding a solution while staying within regulatory norms.
Dr. Dogra stated that registration with the Medical Council is mandatory for practising in J&K, and an NOC from the concerned State Medical Council is required for approval.
He added that since Jammu & Kashmir is a sensitive region, verifying the background of incoming doctors without an NOC could be difficult.
