JAMMU, May 14: Jammu and Kashmir’s promising fast bowler Yudhvir Singh Charak has been selected in the India A squad for the upcoming One-Day Tri-Series against Sri Lanka A and Afghanistan A, which will be held in Dambulla, Sri Lanka, starting June 9.

The Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) men’s selection committee announced a 15-member squad on Thursday. Tilak Varma has been named captain, while Riyan Parag will serve as vice-captain. Young batting talent Vaibhav Sooryavanshi has also been included in the team.

Yudhvir’s selection reflects his consistent performances in domestic cricket and the Indian Premier League. He has been part of several IPL franchises including Mumbai Indians, Lucknow Super Giants, and Rajasthan Royals, apart from representing Jammu and Kashmir in the Ranji Trophy.

A tall right-arm fast bowler, Yudhvir regularly clocks speeds of around 140–145 kmph. He made his first-class debut in 2019, initially playing for Hyderabad before switching to his home team Jammu and Kashmir in 2021.

He has delivered notable performances in red-ball cricket as well, including a match-winning spell against Mumbai in the Ranji Trophy. He also played an important role in Jammu and Kashmir’s recent domestic season, taking 21 wickets along with valuable contributions with the bat in the lower order.

The tri-series will feature India A, Sri Lanka A, and Afghanistan A teams. The tournament will follow a round-robin format, with the final scheduled for June 21.
